WASH Emergency Response for Affected Families from Earthquake in NW Syria

A catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck NW Syria on Feb 6, 2023, resulting in widespread destruction, displacing 11,000 people, and causing casualties and injuries. The project aims to provide emergency assistance to enhance resilience post-earthquake, focusing on enhancing the WASH infrastructure and services that damaged/affected from the earthquake. Targeting 69,931 affected individuals in Falyun, Nayrab, Ein Shib, Hazano, Kafr - Kafrehmul, Korin, Nahliya, Mseibin, Maland communities, and the IDPs camps in Qah and Selwa, the project includes interventions such as: - Rehabilitation of 7 water stations and water pipes. - Supporting 6 water stations with operational costs. - Installing solar system in the water station. - Rehabilitation of 3 sewage systems. - Providing full WASH package in 4 camps by providing them safe water by trucking daily, distributing water tanks 1 m3, collecting the solid waste and disposal, providing waste containers, desludging septic tanks, Maintenance/Construction latrines, as well as conducting hygiene awareness sessions, distributing soap bars during the sessions and publishing-related RCCE materials, taking applying the prevention measures of AWD/cholera.
